MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL –At approximately 2 p.m. today an explosive detection canine working with the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) Airport Police Department alerted to a suitcase near Carousel 12 at the Lindbergh Terminal.
The police evacuated portions of both the Ticketing Level and the Baggage Claim Level and closed the inbound roadways next to the terminal. Other areas of the terminal remained open.
The Bloomington, MN Bomb Squad responded to the scene and determined the bag contained no hazardous items. The bag had not been on a flight, but was used by airline personnel to mark that all bags from the flight had been placed on the carousel.
All airport facilities reopened at approximately 3:20 p.m. The airport remained operational throughout the incident.
