MINNEAPOLIS-ST. PAUL -- At approximately 9 p.m. February 9, Airport Police were dispatched to Delta Airlines’ Building C based on a report of a suspicious person.
A man had entered the building and was confronted by a Delta employee who asked to see his badge. The man responded by holding out a stuffed animal and saying, “This is all you need to see.” At that point the man fled.
Airport police notified the Transportation Security Administration and worked with Delta security officials to look for the individual in and around the building, but he was not found. Airport police stepped up patrols around the building and the airfield but saw no sign of the individual.
The man was described as a black male, approximately 19 to 22 years old. He was described as having an average build and being approximately 5’6 to 5’8 inches tall. He was wearing a tan oversized jacket and a red shirt. He was carrying a stuffed animal with a leopard print.
While it was not believed the man gained access to an adjoining hangar, airport canine explosives detection teams were brought in to check the aircraft before they left the hangar. No explosives were found.
It is not known whether the individual was someone with access rights to the building.
Anyone with any information about the incident should call Airport Police at 612-726-5115.
