terminal information

There are two terminals at MSP Airport: Terminal 1-Lindbergh and Terminal 2-Humphrey. Because they are accessed off separate roadways, it is important to know which terminal your airline is located at before arriving at the airport. Learn which terminal your airline is located at by clicking on: Airline listing by terminal

Know Your Terminal Number: 1 or 2

Between late March and mid April 2010, a series of new and updated signs were installed along highways leading to the exits for each terminal at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. The project allowed - for the first time - the names of the airlines located at each terminal to be listed on highway signs. The signs will help drivers know which terminal their airline flies from well before they need to make their exit decision.

The signs also designated the terminals as Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, rather than Lindbergh and Humphrey, respectively. The change to a numerical designation on the signs was necessary so that drivers are able to quickly scan the signs and make their decision without slowing down traffic.

Airlines and other organizations that issue boarding passes were notified of this terminal designation change, as have the airport's service partners.

During the transition, it is possible that some boarding passes will use a letter (L or H) while others will already list the terminal number (1 or 2). Please check your ticket information carefully and know from which terminal you will be flying into or out.

The Project

The Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) worked with the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDot) on this project. The MAC designed the signs and issued a construction contract to have the signs installed. MNDot administered the contract and oversaw the installation.
